We Are Africa 2010 Road Tour – We Want Your Input!
This August, African Ancestry is hitting the road to share the African Ancestry experience with the community from New Orleans to New England!
For the past 7 years, we’ve helped over 20,000 people of African descent reconnect with their African roots. But our work has just begun.
With over 37 million African Americans in the US alone, we are packing up the car this summer and driving to a town near you to teach, discuss and reunite with the community and our African Ancestry family members.
But before we finalize our dates and locations, we need your help to really make this tour special.
Tell us what venues to go to.
Recommend venues that would be interested in hosting an African Ancestry event. Think town hall style meetings where we can talk to people about Africa, ancestry, DNA, genealogy and African Ancestry. We’ll hold a mix of large presentations and intimate conversations, and are interested in all venues from bookstores to boutiques to libraries to community centers to college campuses.
Connect us with the right people.
We need your help to identify the leaders and connectors in these cities who can mobilize the troops and spread the word that African Ancestry is coming to town.
Volunteer at an event.
We can’t do it alone. Let us know if you would be interested in lending us a hand at our events—from greeting guests to setting up to serving refreshments.
Give us safe passage.
If there’s a minority-owned hotel or bed and breakfast in these cities, make sure that we know about it. If there’s an African Ancestry Family member willing to provide a modern day “safe house” and host us during our journey, we graciously accept your hospitality.
If you have any suggestions or are interested in helping, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your information.
We’ll be sending out more information on the “We Are Africa” 2010 Road Tour soon. Stay tuned.
